Tired of Hearing “Politically Correct”

When those words pass someone’s lips, it’s a fair bet that the speaker is frustrated because there are suddenly consequences to their cherished habit of saying racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic or otherwise bigoted things.

That is all.

  1. I do think it can be carried too far, the medias attempt to find someone outraged or offended by the redskins comes to mind. When there isn’t a complaintant it’s just someone trying to use the club of public opinion to get their way.

The media loves conflict. But the specific phrase “politically correct” is seldom heard on the news anymore. It’s now become the byword of people who resent not being able to publicly speak&act on their privilege.

I am having a hard time mustering pity.
